Bruce Scott is a partner focusing on commercial and public law litigation.

Bruce's experience includes acting for parties engaged in various forms of commercial litigation, both in the High Court and in private arbitrations. Highlights include acting for financial institutions and insurance companies, and acting against the Government and various governmental organisations.

Bruce also has significant experience in mediating the settlement of many disputes and represents the New Zealand commercial fishing industry in relation to a wide range of public law matters, including assisting with the development and drafting of policy, regulations and legislation affecting that industry. Recent experience

Bruce's experience includes:

  • acting for Transit New Zealand in relation to a variety of infrastructure disputes and contentious issues
  • acting for Crown agencies in commercial arbitrations relating to the valuation of certain land and forestry interest, and 
  • providing strategic advice to the commercial fishing industry on a range of issues, including assisting the industry to negotiate an Accord with the Crown to create Benthic Protection Areas.
