JOINING US FROM OVERSEAS? The Immigration Process Chapman Tripp is an accredited employer under the Immigration Service Policy. As an accredited employer we are part of a small group of responsible New Zealand companies who are able to recruit globally and offer priority processing for Talent Work Visa applications.
If you are offered a position of employment with Chapman Tripp our accredited status makes your immigration process so much easier. There is no points system and no need for labour market tests. You are also able to include your partner and/ or dependents under your application.
The only supporting documents you will need are a medical certificate less than three months old and a police clearance certificate from your country of citizenship. With an offer of employment from us the rest is simple and wherever you may be at the time of offer, Chapman Tripp is able to guide you through the immigration process.
As Chapman Tripp is an accredited employer you are entitled to apply for residency after you have been working for us for two years. It is also still possible for you to apply for residency at any stage during this two years under the Skilled Migrant category. Solicitors currently fall into this category.

Practising in New ZealandIf you have not practised Law in New Zealand before, Chapman Tripp will support your application to obtain a practising certificate with the New Zealand Law Society and the District Law Society. These are the regulatory bodies that govern the rules under which lawyers practice in New Zealand. Depending on your country of origin and qualification, you may also need to sit re-qualification exams. Chapman Tripp will support your re-qualification process with both financial and study support.
