  • on successful Overseas Investment Office (OIO) applications for Chinese clients including Shanghai Pengxin on its acquisition of a 74% holding in Synlait Farms, and its high profile purchase of over 7,800 hectares of substantial dairy farming assets (the Crafar Farms)
  • on significant cross-border M&A deals for clients including Australian waste management company Transpacific Industries Group on the $950m sale of its New Zealand business to a wholly owned subsidiary of the Beijing Capital Group
  • Chinese construction clients including Fu Wah International Group on the construction of its luxury hotel project in downtown Auckland; and Shanghai CRED Real Estate on the acquisition of the Peppers Carrington Resort and Karikari Winery Estate on the Karikari Peninsula, Northland
  • Chinese investors investing into or setting up agribusinesses, including Sino-Forest Corporation on its $100m acquisition of the Mangakahia Forest Estate, and
  • Beijing General Aviation on its 50% equity investment in Pacific Aerospace, and on the establishment of a joint venture with Pacific Aerospace called Beijing Pan Pacific Aerospace Technology.
