Congratulations to the winners of the Chapman Tripp Fund Manager of the Year - Equities and Bonds, and the Chapman Tripp M&A Transaction of the Year at the 2013 INFINZ Industry Awards, held on 8 May.
OnePath (NZ) Limited was successful in the Fund Manager of the Year – Bonds award. The judges commented that “OnePath combines a deep understanding of the macro picture with good credit analysis. While Graham Ansell now has an expanded role in the wider business, the team put together from the combination of the National Bank Private Wealth team and OnePath led by Peter Jones has continued to deliver good numbers.”
Milford Asset Management Limited won the Fund Manager of the Year – Equities award for the fourth year in a row. The judges noted: “Milford Asset Management has continued to achieve solid performance numbers with Marc Whittaker and Mark Warminger working well within the framework established by the business’s investment powerhouse Brian Gaynor."
The Telecom Corporation of NZ Limited demerger of Chorus Limited was awarded the M&A Transaction of the Year and described by judges as an "excellent execution of a complex transaction". They noted: “This complexity included regulatory issues, creation of two listed companies, the restructuring of the complex debt facilities, a transaction spanning a number of countries and completion within tight deadlines.”
The Institute of Finance Professionals New Zealand (INFINZ) Industry Awards recognises excellence in the New Zealand capital markets.
