Chapman Tripp appointed to Genesis IPO

24 June 2013

Chapman Tripp has been appointed as Treasury’s legal adviser for the Genesis Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the next phase of the New Zealand Government’s Mixed Ownership Model (MOM) programme.

The Chapman Tripp team on this deal will be led by Partners John Strowger and Stephen Lowe and will include Senior Associate Rachel Dunne.

Chapman Tripp was also legal adviser to Mighty River Power on its IPO, which was the first of three energy companies to be floated by the current Government.

The key Chapman Tripp team advising on the Mighty River Power deal was Partner Stephen Lowe and Senior Associate Rachel Dunne.

“Our appointment as legal adviser to Treasury on the Genesis IPO, along with our work on the Mighty River Power IPO, reinforces our reputation for acting on the most significant and complex IPOs in New Zealand”, says Mark Reese, one of Chapman Tripp’s managing partners and the firm’s relationship partner for Treasury.

“We are delighted with this latest appointment.”
