Chapman Tripp partner to leap from Sky Tower for charity

17 August 2016

Chapman Tripp partner, Luke Hinchey, is preparing to plummet 192m off the Sky Tower – all in the name of charity.

Luke, who specialises in resource management, environmental law and public works law, is participating in this year’s “Drop Your Boss” in support of The Graeme Dingle Foundation.
“Jumping 192m off a building sounds mildly scary, but doesn’t compare to being a kid facing bullying, self-doubt and low-esteem that will substantially affect their potential.  I would happily jump off a building to address those issues for my own two growing kids.  Helping the Foundation support many thousands of kids is therefore a real privilege.”
The Foundation was founded by Graeme Dingle and Jo-anne Wilkinson in 1995 as the Project K Trust. It is a leader in the field of child and youth development.
The Foundation runs several successful programmes – Kiwi Can, Stars, Career Navigator, Project K and MYND.  The programmes incorporate elements of the great outdoors, inspirational classroom leaders and world-class mentors to help kids, from age 5 to 18, keep on track, develop confidence, build resilience and self-belief, set goals for the future, and contribute positively to society.
The event – which is The Foundation’s largest fundraiser of the year - will see a number of corporate partners and business leaders “dropped” from the Auckland’s Sky Tower on Thursday, 15 September.  Prior to that, each “Boss” must raise $3,500 via a Givealittle page. Your donation, no matter how much, will be hugely beneficial. The Foundation’s research shows that every dollar invested in its programmes gives back a long-term benefit to New Zealand of $7.15.
Chapman Tripp has a long association with The Foundation and is a proud supporter of their initiatives.
