Dermot Ross retires from Chapman Tripp partnership

31 March 2013

Chapman Tripp wishes banking and finance lawyer Dermot Ross all the best as he retires from the firm’s partnership on 31 March.

Dermot has decided later in his career that he would like to practise law in a different manner, on his own account as a barrister and solicitor. He has been a partner at Chapman Tripp for over 12 years.

Chapman Tripp Managing Partner Andrew Poole says, “This will be an exciting new challenge for Dermot. We wish him all the best for his new endeavour.”

Chapman Tripp’s national banking and finance team will continue to be led by partner Mark Reese. The 35-strong team acts for local and international banks integral to New Zealand’s economy, as well as market-leading issuers, investors, arrangers and trustees/custodians.

Over the past two years, Chapman Tripp has appointed three new banking and finance partners in our Auckland and Wellington offices, most recently Cathryn Barber in Auckland, on 1 December 2012. This brings the firm’s total number of finance partners nationally to eight.
