Chapman Tripp and Herbert Geer have acted for NZX-listed Metlifecare on its listing on the ASX.
Metlifecare Limited was admitted to the official list of the ASX on 21 October 2013 under ASX ticker code MEQ. Metlifecare sought the ASX listing to facilitate Australian investors’ ability to trade in Metlifecare shares with ease.
Metlifecare is one of New Zealand’s leading retirement village and aged care providers. Established in 1984, the company owns and manages retirement villages throughout the North Island of New Zealand. Metlifecare listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange Main Board in July 1994 (NZX: MET).
Metlifecare was advised on the listing by its New Zealand corporate law advisers Chapman Tripp, and assisted by Herbert Geer on specific Australian law aspects.
The matter was conducted by Chapman Tripp partner, Roger Wallis, and senior associate, Jon Healey.
Roger Wallis says: “We are pleased to have been able to assist Metlifecare with the listing of its shares on the ASX and are delighted to see the company arrive at this significant stage in its development. We look forward to working closely with the company as it continues to grow.”
Michael Truelove, partner, and Wendy Miller, senior associate, of Herbert Geer, Melbourne, provided Australian law advice to Metlifecare on the listing.
Michael Truelove says: “It was a pleasure working with the Metlifecare team and Chapman Tripp throughout the listing process. As we were able to leverage off our experience in compliance listings on the ASX, we were able to ensure that the process was completed quickly and efficiently.”
