Chapman Tripp announces seven new Senior Solicitors

Chapman Tripp is pleased to announce the appointment of five new Senior Solicitors, and to welcome back Senior Solicitors Jarrod Murphy and Joshua Pringle, who have recently returned to Chapman Tripp from New York.

Managing Partner, Andrew Poole, said the appointments demonstrated the firm’s commitment to developing the country's finest legal talent.

Simon Akozu, Auckland - Tax

Simon recently joined Chapman Tripp from a large accounting firm. Simon’s areas of focus include corporate taxation, transactional work, and policy developments.  He is currently completing a Masters in tax.

Adrien Hunter, Auckland - Corporate & commercial

Adrien assists clients on all aspects of M&A deals, takeovers, strategic investments and capital raisings. He has particular experience in overseas investment regulation and approvals.

Tessa Kennings, Auckland - Property, real estate & construction

Tessa specialises in commercial property and public infrastructure law.  She advises clients on a range of issues including property development, acquisitions, disposals and leasing.

Heather Mellott, Auckland - Finance

Heather focuses on financial services law, particularly corporate finance transactions and funds management and securities laws.  She also has niche specialities in the consumer credit area and in asset-backed financings.

Jarrod Murphy, Auckland - Corporate & commercial

Jarrod is an experienced corporate lawyer with broad-based transactional and commercial expertise in the U.S., European and New Zealand markets. He has a particular focus on public and private mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and capital markets transactions. Jarrod has over nine years’ experience in the United States and New Zealand, most recently as an Associate at leading New York firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, and is a member of the New York bar.

Joshua Pringle, Auckland - Corporate & commercial

Joshua specialises in corporate and securities law, with a particular focus on takeovers, public and private mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures and equity capital markets.  Joshua returned to Chapman Tripp in 2011 after several years in New York as an associate at leading New York firm, Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, and is a member of the New York bar.

Andrea Shepherd, Auckland - Property, real estate & construction

Andrea specialises in commercial property.  She advises on the acquisition, disposal, leasing and development of commercial properties, with particular expertise in relation to insolvency related property matters.
