Arthur is a partner in our corporate & commercial team focusing on commercial law, trust law and private client advisory.
Arthur is Chapman Tripp’s Senior Partner. He advises clients on all aspects of trust formation, structuring, administration, management, investment and asset diversification. Arthur holds trusteeships in numerous family trusts and estates, and holds a number of active honorary charitable trusteeships.
Arthur also has a wide and varied background in other areas of corporate and commercial legal practice, including company restructuring; mergers & acquisitions; development projects; infrastructure; asset trusts; and superannuation. He has extensive directorate experience with both public and private companies, and currently holds a number of active company directorships.
Experience
Arthur has acted as:
- Trustee or Chairman of numerous discretionary family trusts
- Chairman or a Director for client interests on various company boards, and
- Trustee for more than 20 years for the Bledisloe Estate Trust.
Arthur advises on:
- asset structuring and protection for clients with significant business or personal assets
- trust and asset reorganisation, including resettlements and variations of existing trusts, particularly to deal with intergenerational transition, and
- furnishing a trustee capability enabling trustee services in the context of New Zealand’s offshore trust regime.
