Chris specialises in corporate & commercial law.
Chris has a particular focus on commercial contracts, technology and energy.
His wide-ranging experience in the UK and at Chapman Tripp also includes significant mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, supply and distribution, securities, consumer and IP licensing work.
Prior to rejoining Chapman Tripp, Chris worked in the UK as Corporate Legal Manager at Exel Plc, then the world’s largest logistics company.
Recent experience
Chris has advised:
- the Ministry of Economic Dvelopment on its long-term project to meet New Zealand's obligations as a member of the International Energy Agency by tendering for companies to hold petroleum reserves for the Government in various jurisdictions
- Vector on the establishment of its energy metering joint venture with Siemens (NZ) and associated procurement and services arrangements
- the Earthquake Commission on its long-term, multi-million dollar supply, maintenance and management arrangements for the nationwide geological hazards monitoring system known as "GeoNet"
- PGG Wrightson Limited on the licensing, support and professional services arrangements for its multi-million dollar ERP implementation project
- The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat on its pan-pacific bulk petroleum procurement project, and
- Bathurst Resources on its acquisition of Eastern Coal Resources Group (the owner of various West Coast coal mining tenements).
