Jai advises clients on a wide range of New Zealand tax matters including refinancing, structuring, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border investments and tax disputes.
Prior to joining Chapman Tripp, Jai gained Trans-Tasman experience in Big Four accounting firms, covering Australian and New Zealand tax matters. She specialised in corporate M&A taxation and international taxation for clients operating in a range of industries including utilities, engineering, media, insurance and financial services.
Jai's recent experience includes:
advising a number of Australian and New Zealand Private Equity firms on tax structuring, due diligence and model reviews for proposed acquisitions
advising EBOS Group Limited on tax structuring and due diligence for the acquisition of Symbion Healthcare and Masterpet
providing sell side assistance, including tax vendor due diligence and structuring, for the proposed sale of large entertainment/television network groups, the downstream business of a multi-national oil and gas company and various divestments of Australian and New Zealand government assets
providing tax assistance, including tax due diligence and tax structuring advice, for the IPOs of various Australian and New Zealand companies.
