Chapman Tripp home to the "stars", says latest research

Chapman Tripp was the only New Zealand law firm to have two of its lawyers ranked as “stars”  by leading international legal directory Chambers Asia Pacific 2012, released last week.

Partners Jack Hodder SC and John Strowger were recognised for their dispute resolution and corporate practices respectively.

Chambers Asia Pacific 2012 ranked Chapman Tripp as Tier 1 in eight practice areas and Tier 2 in the remaining four.

The independent research also recognised nine new leading lawyers at Chapman Tripp, bringing the total number of lawyers ranked to 38. Newly ranked lawyers were: Roger Wallis, Nick Wells, Tim Williams (corporate), John McKay (dispute resolution), Geoff Bevan (employment), Ross Pennington (finance), John Knight (insurance), Bill Sandston (real estate) and David Patterson (tax).

The 2012 guide also introduced a new sub-practice area, “insurance: contentious”. Two Chapman Tripp lawyers were noted as leading in this area: Adam Ross and John Knight.

Chambers international guides to the legal profession identify and rank the world's best lawyers.  Lawyers are assessed against criteria valued by clients, including technical expertise, business acumen, prompt delivery and value for money.
