Chapman Tripp has been named Law Firm of the Year in the 2016 KangaNews Awards, announced on Friday.
KangaNews is well-known publisher with a focus on Australasian fixed-income markets.
“KangaNews is a leading capital markets publishing force and enjoys a close connection with the market,” said Chapman Tripp partner Ross Pennington, who won the KangaNews New Zealand Market Achievement Award earlier this year.
“It is their inaugural Law Firm of the Year award and it is 100% determined by feedback from the market, so to win is particularly pleasing.”
Chapman Tripp advised on the award’s Innovative Debt Deal of the Year, Westpac’s $400m 4.659% September 2021 call tier-two deal, as well as New Zealand Domestic Bond Deal of the Year, the Chorus $400m 4.12% May 2021 deal.
The awards will be presented at a gala dinner in in Sydney on Tuesday, 21 March 2017.
The win comes only a few weeks after Chapman Tripp was also named Large Law Firm of the Year at the 12th annual New Zealand Law Awards.
