Michael advises clients on a range of commercial property matters with a focus on acquisitions, disposals and leasing. Before joining Chapman Tripp, Michael worked in venture capital where he gained an understanding of the business and investment side of companies.
Recent highlights
- Acting for one of the world’s largest private equity funds on its various joint venture arrangements, associated structures, OIO attendances and acquisitions of multiple commercial properties in New Zealand.
- Assisting Centuria across various major property acquisitions, subdivisions, disposals and leasing work, including its $143m purchase of the Mercury headquarters at 33 Broadway, Auckland.
- Worked with Blackstone on its acquisition of a portfolio of seven Auckland office buildings from Goodman and GIC for $635m, and associated leasing and post-acquisition leasing and other commercial matters.
- Acting for a number of local and international clients on the sale and subdivision of their New Zealand assets.
