Fiona specialises in corporate and commercial law with a particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, construction and procurement contracts, joint venture arrangements, securities law and finance.

Fiona has considerable experience in procurement and construction law and has an in-depth knowledge of the NEC3 suite of construction contracts and other New Zealand and international forms of procurement and construction contracts.

She also has an in-depth knowledge of the Personal Property Securities Act 1999 and the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2003.

Corporate
  • Wynyard Group on its $65m IPO and NZX listing

  • Portacom New Zealand on the New Zealand aspects of a global group restructuring and refinancing

  • Pacific Radiology Group on its shareholding structure and on the acquisition of Otago Radiology Limited

  • Kathmandu Holdings on aspects of its November 2009 initial public offering and on the 2015 takeover offer by Briscoes Group for all of the shares in Kathmandu

  • Jade Software Corporation on the sale of its healthcare divisional business to a UK listed company, the purchase of New Zealand and Australian based software companies and advising on its software licence and services agreements

Construction
  • the Ministry of Health in respect of the redevelopment of Burwood Hospital
  • Holcim (New Zealand) in relation to its consultancy, supply and construction contracts for its cement import facilities
  • Lyttelton Port Company in respect of reconstruction works for its port
  • Meridian Energy in the procurement work for its Mill Creek, West Wind and Te Uku wind farms and the refurbishment of its hydro stations and Meridian Energy Australia on the construction and procurement contracts for the Mount Mercer Wind Farm in Australia
  • Transpower in respect of its use of the NEC3 construction and professional service contracts
  • Ravensdown Fertiliser Co-operative in respect of its new office buildings in Hornby and Dunedin and new fertiliser store in New Plymouth, and
  • Southbase Construction on the design and construction contract for the Christchurch new Central library.
