Leigh advises clients on the
commercial and financing aspects of projects, including large infrastructure
Leigh also advises both borrowers and lenders on property finance arrangements and general lending arrangements, including refinancings and acquisition financing.
Leigh has advised the Government on all of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects in New Zealand to date, including the Auckland South Corrections Facility at Wiri, the Transmission Gully Motorway, the Pūhoi to Warkworth Motorway and the Schools PPP 2 and PPP 3 projects.
Before Chapman Tripp, Leigh worked for another major New Zealand law firm for 10 years. She also worked for magic circle firm Slaughter and May from 2008 to 2012, advising clients on restructurings and financing arrangements.

Leigh has advised:
the Department of Corrections on the Auckland South Corrections Facility at Wiri PPP project and the Auckland Prison Redevelopment PPP project based at Paremoremo. Leigh provided the Department with advice on the general commercial risk allocation but with a particular focus on the insurance and financing arrangements
the NZ Transport Agency on the procurement of the Transmission Gully Motorway and the Pūhoi to Warkworth Motorway, utilising the PPP model. For both projects, Leigh had a particular focus on the insurance arrangements and the internal approvals processes. She has also been advising on the ongoing aspects of both of these projects, and
the Ministry of Education on the Hobsonville Schools project, the Schools PPP 2 project and the Schools PPP 3 project. She advised the Ministry on all commercial elements of the project and the delegation and approvals processes.
been seconded to ANZ Bank New Zealand Limited and regularly advises ANZ (in particular the commercial property team) on acquisition, development and working capital funding arrangements, and
acted for large infrastructure companies and a large commercial property company on all aspects of their lending arrangements, including financing arrangements for NZX listings and acquisitions.
