International trade – trends and insights 2019

After a long period of relative stability and growth in global trade, Chapman Tripp's annual International trade – trends and insights publication says the future is looking increasingly uncertain.

In this year's publication we canvass developments in 2019 and consider what we can expect in 2020. While there is continued uncertainty and disruption worldwide, there have also been positive steps forward including:

  • the conclusion of the New Zealand-China Fair Trade Agreement upgrade
  • talks launched for a climate change and trade agreement
  • a digital economic partnership with Singapore and Chile, and
  • global success stories from ground-breaking New Zealand companies continuing to do incredible things on the world stage.
